BRIAN J. LAURI Brian J. Lauri graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University (summa cum laude) in 1988 and the State University of New York College of Law at Buffalo in 1991. After law school, he worked in Buffalo for a private law firm handling personal injury cases before joining the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, Brian served as a Judge Advocate General and also worked as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in both Virginia and California, prosecuting both misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. After spending 4 ˝ years on active duty, Brian joined the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, where he spent the next eleven years as a prosecutor. During the last six years of his career in the District Attorney’s Office, Brian was responsible for prosecuting vehicular homicide and manslaughter cases as well as Driving While Intoxicated offenses, establishing a distinguished record as a trial attorney. In November 2007, Brian was elected Town Judge for the Town of Clay. He then resigned his position as a prosecutor and trial attorney in the District Attorney’s Office and joined Hall & Martin as a partner in January 2008. Today, Brian uses his years of trial experience assisting victims of crimes by helping those persons who have been victimized by the negligence of others achieve the full and fair compensation that they deserve. In addition to civil litigation cases, Brian also routinely handles matters involving wills and estate planning, real estate as well as providing expert counsel to those clients who are charged with criminal or traffic offenses, including DWI. Brian continued his military career in the New York Air National Guard, and currently is a Lieutenant Colonel and Staff Judge Advocate for the 174th Fighter Wing. He has twice been activated for service since the attacks of September 11, 2001, and in 2003 deployed to Iraq with the Special Forces Task Force. He also is an adjunct professor at Columbia College, teaching a wide variety of criminal justice classes in both their undergraduate and graduate programs. Brian is very active in the community, and is a leader in Boy Scout Troop 150 at St. Rose of Lima in North Syracuse, a volunteer committee member for the American Heart Association Heart Walk, as well as a member of the Parish Council and Lector at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero. He is also a member of American Legion Post 787, VFW Post 951, Knights of Columbus Council 10904 and Assembly 2663 at Sacred Heart Church, as well as the Onondaga County Bar Association, the Onondaga County Magistrate’s Association and the New York State Magistrate’s Association. |
